Problem Identified: Users often struggle with indecisiveness and uncertainty when planning dates on Hinge, leading to suboptimal and repetitive dating experiences.

Impact: This confusion and lack of clarity in date planning can result in missed opportunities for meaningful connections, decreased user satisfaction, and potential disengagement from the app due to frustration.

Goal: Understanding Users and validating the Problem

Based on the assessment provided by the Clarity Risk Matrix, the issue in question falls within the Low Risk, Low Clarity quadrant. This indicates that while the problem poses Minimal Risk, there exists a degree of Uncertainty regarding its underlying causes.

1. The classification of low risk suggests that the issue is not deemed groundbreaking or highly disruptive.
2. The designation of low clarity reflects our current lack of precise understanding regarding the root cause.

Therefore, our approach should prioritize methods conducive to light research, aimed at substantiating and clarifying the problem statement. This strategic selection will enable us to efficiently navigate the investigative process while minimizing resource allocation.

Research Methods

After careful consideration, we have opted to pursue a dual approach for our research endeavors.

• Firstly, we will conduct competitive analysis and review existing literature to gather insights through secondary research. This method allows us to leverage the wealth of information available in the public domain and glean valuable perspectives from industry trends and competitor strategies.
• Simultaneously, we will engage in primary research by administering surveys. This direct engagement with our target audience will afford us the opportunity to gather firsthand data, enabling a deeper understanding of the issue at hand and providing valuable insights into customer perceptions and preferences.
• By combining these complementary methods, we aim to comprehensively investigate the problem statement while maximizing the depth and breadth of our research findings.
